APZI
has two core objectives: promoting the port and representing the interests of the private sector in Zeebrugge.
Port Promotion
Promoting the Port of Zeebrugge both domestically and internationally is a key task of APZI. The goal is to create a positive climate around port activity in Zeebrugge so that the opportunities and strengths of our port are known and fully leveraged worldwide.
To achieve this objective, APZI organises, among other things, port open days in the European hinterland and participates in international trade fairs and overseas missions. Information is disseminated through various communication channels, amongst other means.
The Zeebrugge Port Authority also plays an important role in promoting the port. APZI therefore works closely with the port authority to ensure port promotion is as effective as possible.
Representation of Interests
Interest representation includes all positions and actions that serve the common interests of Zeebrugge’s private port sector.
APZI represents the Zeebrugge private port sector in the bodies and organizations where port-related interests are discussed.
APZI is also a member of the Flemish Port Association (VHV), the Flemish Port Commission (VHC), and various maritime organizations.
At the level of the Flemish Port Association, the private sectors of the four Flemish ports come together to adopt joint positions.
